Recently, I taught myself how to do calligraphy. I didn’t go out and buy crazy calligraphy pens, I just use markers at home and watch some YouTube videos. Calligraphy is really relaxing for me. I enjoyed that it’s swift motions and it looks very calm and classy. Today, I’ll be teaching you how to write in calligraphy. I’m no pro or anything, but I do know the basic rules/musts and hope to teach you something.
1. When you are moving the pen/marker down the letter, make the line thick.
2. When you are moving up the letter, make the line thin.
3. Try not to pick up your pen, it will look choppier. I have a hard time with this one, because I’m a perfectionist
4. There is no “calligraphy font” just follow the basic rules and you can design the letters however you fancy.
5. If you are struggling with the shapes of letters as I was, go online and search up “quotes in calligraphy” and you will find many different letters in calligraphy that you can choose from.
I hope you enjoyed this post and start to play around with calligraphy!
LOVE your calligraphy! It looks downright professional!
