A few weeks ago, my family decided to take on the challenge of becoming vegetarian for two weeks! We decided to do this for fun, not to diet or that we don’t like meat. Instead of eating carbs the whole two weeks, my mom made some awesome vegetarian meals. Honestly, by the end of the first week, I was kind of done. I know I can stay vegatarian and I kept a balanced diet, but it made eating out a lot harder. I would feel full after meals, I just wanted some meat by the end! Below are some pictures of our meals and I’ll explain which each of them are!
My mom and I ate out at a nearby restaurant called Locale, which is like a market with fresh foods. Here we ordered lemon, sun dried tomatoes, and ricotta ravioli. We also decided to go with a goat cheese, strawberry, edemame and chick-pea salad.
My mom made this dish with whole wheat pasta, arugula, fresh tomatoes, lemon, thyme, and some other fresh herbs from our plants. It was delicious!!
This dish is a Moroccan style dish with pomegranate seeds, quinoa, roasted almonds, sweet potatoes, and cilantro. This wasn’t my favorite dish, but it was okay. I just think that Moroccan food isn’t for me.
One night, our family had EVOS. EVOS is a “fast food” restaurant that doesn’t use grease, but air bakes fries and is healthy. I ordered a soy burger, which I normally get anyway, and Katw had a veggie burger.
